"...YOU MAY HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT A BAD BREAK I GOT. YET TODAY I CONSIDER MYSELF THE LUCKIEST MAN ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH"
--Lou Gehrig, July 4th 1939
Make Every Hit Count
Pledge an amount for every hit your favorite team gets
on July 4. Then root for your team, because the more hits the more money will be raised to advance research, expand patient services, continue public education programs, and advocate for people with ALS.

When Lou Gehrig spoke those words on July 4, 1939 at Yankee StadiumTM, America became painfully aware of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Gehrig’s courage and ability to find the good in a bad situation have inspired countless others.
Now, to mark the 70th anniversary of his farewell address, Major League Baseball® and Minor League BaseballTM are helping to support four ALS organizations, including The ALS Association, to raise awareness of ALS. And to help raise money The ALS Association has created the Covering All the Bases® Hitting Challenge
